Hi,I wish to plana outing to the Giant Buddha flying from Australia to Guangzhou then by rail to Leshan. What would be the best course for this? At that point I will fly out to Nanning again via train and once more to Guangzhou and conceivably visit Hong Kong before coming back to Australia. I might want to go by public transport while in China just flying to and froom Australia.

Hi Kirpal,

The best course depends on what kind of time you have, your budget, and your tolerance for long term bus/train rides. I found that (staying in hostels), the staff were the best resources for finding out if there was a train or a bus available, and what the price and schedules are.

Happy travels!
