There is no hot water in my school. I thought, maybe, it was just a phase. Because heat, hot air, and things are generally comfortable come in phases. The phase being, when your skin gets a layer of ice on it, the school will turn on the heat. Until then, layer up little monkey, cause it's gonna get chilly!
The air in the hand dryers is the same.
"Why is the air cold?" I asked Ghey.
"Because it's warm out!" she said. Um...ok.
Now, finally, we have warm air. Soon, we will have heat. But hot water?
Ghey shook her head, sadly, when I asked. "In some schools," she said. "But here? Never."

Frances
I've got some - of course, they're not functional. Leather motorcycle gloves. SO CUTE, but I need to get new ones. :P
None of the schools in Japan where I taught had either: hot air, heating or hot water. In winter the most they had were little portable open-flame heaters in the classrooms, but since they are unbelievable dangerous (think earthquakes and/or fires) they were only ignited during lessons when the teachers were in the classroom. Add to this the thermally totally insufficient school uniforms for the kids. Some girls actually had blue lips.
I, too, froze my bottom off during winter there...
YIKES. I think (I hope) that my school will actually have heat at some point, and avoid the blue lips scenario.
