Moments of minutia

Today is one of those days where I would like, more than anything, not to be writing a blog post. Of course, as a NaBloPoMo participant, I don’t have that option. As a general rule, I try to only write when I have something say, some pressing need to share. But today, I’m all used up.

My story is blank. Doesn’t happen often that I find myself in this kind of lull, but it does happen. All I have are moments – pinpricks of brightness – which honestly, I don’t think are worth reporting.

But here we go anyways.

I went to an international wine and cheese party, and tried a Spanish wine called “Torro” which was unexpectedly delicious.

I met a girl who is an artist model, and felt envious.

I started reading Moby Dick for the first time ever, and reveled in the delight of Melville’s prose.

I identified a corgi, without help, while out walking. The funny little thing waddled beside me for a bit, as if I were the one walking him.

The Fall leaves were insanely beautiful on Sunday afternoon.

I bought the fixings for a baked potato – something I haven’t eaten in 8 years.

I read the Metro on the way into work this morning, which had the word “Commies” in the major headline, and laughed at the inappropriateness of the term.

I looked in the bathroom mirror at work, and realized that my shirt was so wrinkled, it looked like I slept in it. (The wrinkles have melted away, thank goodness!)

A lawyer told me that “some young man is missing out”, because I’m not dating. I wondered if that was true.

Advice on good wine is always worth a post! I'll try “Torro” when I come accross it!
