Kinsale: You should DEFINITELY try the fish n'chips

One thing I love about living in New England? The fish n'chips selection. I've always loved fish n'chips. However, being from the Midwest, I was living in ignorance of the absolute deliciousness to be had on the New England coast. I love sampling a menu as much as the next person, but as soon as fish n'chips catches my eye, I feel compelled to ignore all other options.

The Kinsale Irish Pub & Restaurant is one place in Boston's financial district where you are guaranteed to get a fabulous fish n'chips meal. Of course, if fish isn't your style, they have other things too. I was almost swayed by their fantastic burger selection. The add ons include sauteed peppers, mushrooms, onions, sliced avocado, and apple-wood smoked bacon. I know what your're thinking. Avocado? Maybe it's an odd burger add on choice, but I still thought it was pretty impressive.

They have nice salad options, but this is not a place I would think of as a vegetarian's dream. More likely, it's a place a vegetarian could compromise (in between salads and appetizers) with their meat loving friends.

The atmosphere at Kinsale is laid back and unpretentious. I was therefore pleasantly surprised by their extensive beer selection. Usually, a place impresses me if it's classy enough to offer Sam Summer.

In case we should ever have summer weather, there's great outdoor seating - tall woven chairs perfect for swinging your legs a bit (or playing footie), and tall tables. They're very fun to sit at.

My only warning? The service is a little slow. I would not suggest going to Kinsale if you were on a deadline. I can't say if this is normal, or if it was just our server, but I thought I'd warn you just the same. However, if you happen to be strolling around near the Common or Downtown Crossing and have no where you need to be, I recommend it highly.

Ahh I would have loved to try fish and chips...except I just realized I'm allergic. Boo, because it sounds yummy.

You should add the restaurant to your springpad and share it!

You should try the burgers then! They actually have a burger sampler platter which sounded pretty amazing.

my secret? I still don't really know how to use springpad...

Kinsale is a good time! But I always feel myself getting dragged into all the other bars around Fanual Hall. I say its a perfect stop for a pubcrawl :)

and yeah, i cannot WAIT until it gets warmer (maybe august?!) to drink a nice pint outside.

I haven't been pub crawling in ages...but now that you've put the idea in my head, I kind of want to do a 20sb boston bloggahs pub crawl.

I used to eat fish and chips all the time when I was younger, but haven't in a while. My favorite thing with fish & chips is to sprinkle vinegar on the fries. I guess I could do that with any fries, but never think about it unless its with fish

I like to do that too! Actually, I'll usually sprinkle vinegar all over the place - fish, chips, and anything in between. :)
